Match knockdown texture on a water damaged drywall ceiling repair Fast and Easy!
In this video I’m going to show you a great DIY way to match a knockdown texture on a water damage drywall ceiling repair with the knockdown texture sponge. I’ll also show you how to sand the ceiling repair using a 100 grit sanding sponge the contours to the texture in the repaired areas really well for sanding.
Next, use a paintable caulk to fill in the small gap where the ceiling meets the wall at the area I flat taped the drywall ceiling repair.
Lastly, I prime the newly knockdown textured areas on the ceiling with an oil base stain blocking primer called Kilz. Then, applied two coats of a bright white ceiling paint using a three-quarter inch paint roller nap. In this video. I’ll be demonstrating how to apply a hot mud, 20 minute quick setting joint compound to the fiberglass drywall mesh tape while doing the drywall repair mud work . On the second coat I’ll be using an all-purpose joint compound made by USG in applying both coats with a 12 inch drywall taping knife and a stainless steel mud pan.
in this drywall ceiling repair demonstration video I’ll also show you how to flat tape the ceiling where it meets the wall so you don’t have to do any corner drywall taping and get mud on the wall.
