The popcorn ceiling texture sponge is Great for small ceiling repairs and tape joint patches too!
I recommend not using a compressor and texture hopper for these types of drywall small repairs. Texture hoppers and cans of popcorn spray texture are simply to hard to dial and get the texture right when trying to match popcorn ceiling textures.
Texture hoppers also put out too much texture on not only the repair but the surrounding area. Resulting in too much popcorn texture build up. Never really making the patch invisible. The texture is better if it’s concentrated to a smaller area around the repair area.
That’s why this popcorn texture sponge and technique is great not only for Do it Yourselfers but Contractors and a handyman too!
Along with the popcorn ceiling texture sponge this texturing project will require a couple more hand tools to do be able to blend the popcorn texture.
1) Popcorn Ceiling Texture Sponge
2) Popcorn powder mix or a small bucket of pre-mixed popcorn texture
3) Drywall Mud pan
4) 6″ or 12″ Taping knife depending the size area you’re going to be texturing.
